Tonight I looked at an '87 244GL w/ 175k. It's a 1 owner and seems to have been maintained decently. She drives nice but there are some issues. The A/C doesn't work, owners report it hasn't worked for a long time. The passenger front window doesn't go up or down (electric). The seats are ripped, front and rear. BTW, are they leather or vinyl? No accidents or wrecks. Paint is OK for a 17 year old. They don't know when timing belt was done. They want $1500 obo. Are the problems listed above easily fixable? Should I get a local pre-inspection from an indie mechanic? Should I offer them ______ and go for it? Thanks for all of your advice! Oh, forgot to add that the heater blower is squeeling a bit at high speed!
