Be alarmed 900

Hi folks,

Well, it finally happened. Last week someone broke into my car by smashing the passenger window to steal my Sony CDX-M630 radio. Real professional work: except for the window and my undivided faith in other human beings nothing else was damaged.

The funny thing is, the car was parked in front of my home and I never heard the alarm (it was activated by me but not set off by the thief). Nor did anyone else. So I took the manual of this 'Volvo Guard' system and started reading. It says my car (European 1992 965) has sensors in the hood and doors, they work fine. It also mentioned other sensors elsewhere, it seems possible to change the sensitivity of these sensors. But I have not yet been able to set off the alarm by any other way than opening hood or doors.

Do I have these other sensors? How do I know these other sensors, of which I can only presume they're meant to detect shocks and movement, work without breaking a window? And does anybody have other ideas about how to prevent someone from breaking into my car (for I can't park it indoors)? I chose this radio because it wasn't really visible at night (blackpanel) and because you need a code to make it work, but the thief clearly wasn't concerned about it (he even left the remote).
