Hey Guys - Brakes on my close-to-free 1990 240 were binding very badly - pads not releasing. Had a brake job 8k miles ago.

I jacked the front and could barely turn the front wheels by hand. Removed the front wheels to inspect the brakes and found the last guy who did the brakes just retracted the pistons, hammered in new pads and re-assembled everything. Pads were almost hopelessly jammed. I removed everything, scraped the sliding surfaces on the calipers, cleaned the pins and milled the edges of the pads with a die grinder. Reassembled everything with some silicone grease and all slides smoothly now! Changed the brake fluid, too - made a HUGE difference.
