Questions about AC compressor (sanden), '92 244 200

Have been working with compressor, ran low on 134 earlier this year, took it too service but tech wouldn't allow 134 to stay is system because of leak and wanted 1K for a new compressor etc. Not an options for me at the moment.

compressor was cylcling frequently indicating as I learned that it was low on freon. So what to do....As a roadtrip approached I bought a $21 r134 recharge/stop leak/esther oil product that I was able to use to charge the system to appropriate level as guage on product indicated. AC blows cold...but copressor makes noise.

I can't tell if the noise is:
- the clutch cylcling frequently which it shouldn't if the freon is up to level

-or if the noise is a worn out clutch or

-a worn bearing

-the noise of the ps belt as the clutch engages

or what? I'm not sure but I do know that it blows cold and that my wife is not complaining

Anyone have the same problem?

Josh
