Being as obsessed with my car as I am, I wanted a picture of my odometer reading 100,000 miles, so I decided to do it the safe way (not while moving), and at 99,998 or so, exited the highway, drove for a bit, then pulled off the road and snapped a few pictures. I pulled back onto the road, made a u-turn, and was headed back to the highway, when i saw those flashing blue and red lights in the rear view. The cop asked for license and registration, so I picked my glovebox up off the floor to get it (I was messing with the overdrive relay and didnt see a reason to put it back till I was done). He then asked what I was doing. I replied that I was turning around to get back on the highway (I though he'd pulled me for the u-turn). He said no, what was I doing on the side of the road. I explained that I had hit 100,000 miles and wanted a picture of the odometer. He seemed rather annoyed (perhaps because he couldnt write me a ticket), but said I could go. I'd heard about people getting stopped by cops wondering about the flashing light inside their car as they snapped photos of milage milestones, but never expected it to happen to me. Anyway, now its off to write Volvo and get my badge.
