Rear wiper 900 1994

My son pushed the rear window wiper down onto the tail gate and after removing the cap and nut, I realigned the arm to the horizontal position. I then tested the wiper and the arm moved down onto the gate again and stopped. I folded the wiper back off the gate and turned on the wiper and absolutely nothing happened. Not even the sound of the motor running. Any suggestions.
