Hey, everyone. I've got an '89 740GL with the M47 transmission. Though I can go through the gears on the way up just fine, downshifting has become increasingly difficult, especially the 3rd to 2nd transition when slowing for a stoplight, and even sometimes getting it into first after I've stopped can be a challenge. This doesn't happen all the time; in fact, it's uncommon but the frequency of occurence is trending upward. Any ideas what I might be looking at...would a simple fluid change help me, or am I looking at a clutch or synchro problem? I've budgeted to replace the car this fall, so I just need to get it by until then without spending more than the absolute minimum $. Should I movew my replacement timetable up, or will I be OK?
Thanks.
