I'm looking for a decent source for rebuilt ATE rear calipers. The last one that I purchased was from a local Advance Auto Parts for about $55.00 and I have been less than thrilled with it's performance. Yesterday I noticed that one of the rear calipers was dragging a bit, turns out that the problem lies with the aforementioned caliper that I had purchased about 18 months ago. The pads were new at the time that the caliper was replaced, but the outside pad is in relatively new condition while the inner pad is nearly worn out, both pistons slide freely in their bores, so the inner one does not appear to be frozen. Any ideas on what may cause this? Maybe fluid is not flowing around to the other half of the caliper.
At any rate, I would like to replace both rear calipers with a decent quality, but still economical set. I noticed that FCP Groton carries a rebuilt one by Beck Arnley for about $39.00, does anyone have an feedback on these?
Thanks as always,
Greg Normington
