Can I swap a K10042 speedo with a K9830? 200 1986

My speedo in my 86 244DL is dead. The wiring from the sending unit to the speedo is good and I think the sending unit is OK (is there a way to check?). So I think I've got it down to the speedo itself. I'm going to try and get a cheapy off of ebay to test it out. I've got a good deal on an instrument cluster, but the speedo is a K9830 unit from a 1988. Will this work in place of my K10042? Thanks
