LH throttle body questions! 200 1989

I'm trying to track down the cause of the high idle on my '89 with LH 2.4. I disconnected the battery to reset the computer (crossing my fingers), and as I was expecting the idle problem is still there.

So now I've narrowed it down to either something I did to the idle air valve when I was cleaning it (I can't imagine what that would be), or more probably something I did to the throttle body when I cleaned it and took the throttle plate out to bevel it. Or I suppose it could be a vacuum leak but this idle seems way too high for a simple vacuum leak. And besides, if anything I helped the vacuum situation. I don't think I opened up any bad leaks.

And I'm sure I didn't bevel the throttle plate too much. I was very conservative with that. But it is possible that I put it together incorrectly, or the plate was not adjusted properly. So I have the throttle body out now, and I have a few questions:

1. When you look through the throttle body, will you see just a tiny crack of daylight between the leading and trailing edges of the throttle plate and the throttle body? Or is it supposed to be a real tight fit with no daylight whatsoever? I'm talking a real hairline crack here, pretty well balanced between the leading and trailing edges of the plate. I can't seem to get it adjusted to be any better than that. Is that normal?

2. Is the throttle plate supposed to be exactly perpendicular inside the body when at idle, or does it sit at a little bit of an angle?

3. On the top of the throttle body there are two vacuum ports. Inside the throttle body you can see the two small holes for these ports. The way my throttle plate is sitting right now, the smaller of the two holes seems to be covered up exactly by the edge of the throttle plate. The larger of the two holes is just outside the plate, towards the intake (AMM) side of the throttle body. Is this correct? Or should both of the small holes be just outside of the throttle plate?

4. On the face of the throttle plate there is a small dot stamped in the middle of one half. Where does this dot go? On the intake (AMM) or engine (manifold) side of the throttle body? Does it go on the top or bottom?

5. If I end up giving up on this throttle body, can I use one from a LH 2.0 or 2.2? Last time I was at the p-n-p there were no '89s that I saw.
