1979 264GL Flathood Conversion, YAY or NAY??? 200 1979

I finally got around to installing a flathood and 7" headlight setup on my 79 264GL the other day. Took me a while since one of the hinges was bent to begin with but then again I always have fun turning wrenches on my brick. Well once I was done I asked my wife to come out to look at the finished product (minus paint). It BROKE MY HEART when my wife came out and said, "THAT HOOD LOOKS SO UGLY!!! The whole time I was thinking I had done a good thing to my brick. Given it a bit more character and a look rarely seen these days. And here my wife says these five simple words and now my Flathood dreams are shattered. Mind you this is the same wife that let me buy her a 84 245DL and me a 79 262C in 8-days time. I respect her opinions very much since she has always backed all of my brick projects so now I'm wondering if I should go back to the old style setup.

Before I do I wanted to get a vote from some of those out there in Volvo land. Below are BEFORE and AFTER pictures. Keep in mind that paint is still needed but everything is there and all the lights works. Let me know your honest opinions. Any and all advice, thoughts, and suggestions will be taken. Thanks to all for their time in advance!!!
