I found the leakage to be coming from the steel line that connects from the bottom of the power steering pump out to the gear box. The gear box end has a 3/4 bolt that the leak is coming from. I tried to re-tighten it but it still leaks. As soon as I refill the reservoir it really runs out from this bolted area. The area has a tremendous amount of rust on the bolt and base area of where the bolt secures this particular line. I have a donor 88 740 wagon, could i just pull this line off of the donor and or should i just get a new line. Also is this the pressure line or the supply line? Again it run from the bottom of the gear box out through the front frame in the direction of the radiator and then it curves straight towards and into the bottom of the power steering pump. I am wondering if my pump is probably burned out? I am so glad that my rack is ok!! Also the steering rod has a new knuckle! Its just that the car's last owners lived up in Maine, so the rust factor played a major part regarding the rust/leakage. The car is a 1989 740 GL non-turbo/A.T. with Regina/Bosch ignition 285,000 (clean body/undercarriage) with just a few spot of under carriage rust. It runs excellent! Please help all of your input is vital and would be greatly appreciated!!!!
