idle drop off 700 1989

Friend of mine bought my old 740-T sedan. It was having occasional issues with not wanting to start again once it had warmed up- would usually go away after car had totally cooled off. Sat for a month or so, sold it and the new owner started working on it. Found a few vacuum leaks, fixed those, car runs smoother but now had a new problem: when you let off the gas, the idle drops off the tach and the car stalls. Will usually start right back up again but then does same thing. What's up with this one? Thanks.
