winshield wiper confusion!! 200 1984

Help. can anyone tell me where I can find a diagram that shows how to replace the cables for the windshield wiper drive arms? The pulley (cam?) that drives the arms just up and fell off. My manual has no information on this. Took the brown bomber to a mechanic and he puzzled for an hour and did me no good. Called the local dealership and those pirates told me it would cost 200 dollars to do the work for me. Looks pretty simple...but I am cussing now. Can't figure it out. Please help! thanks
