The speedometer on my just purchased '90 245 fluctuates 20-30mph. Where do I start looking? I just bought a '90 745 turbo but how could I pass up the '90 245: price is $100. Needs speedo fix, battery, alternator, brakes, rear shocks, one rear door, odds and ends and needs cleaned up but the engine, tranny, and body are pretty good. 148k miles. My wife thinks I'm crazy but I'm assigning it to my 17-year-old son as a summer project (who has no summer job). I've got 2 other 240's & I've promised my wife I'll sell one soon, and my son can sell the project before school starts. This makes sense, right???
