NO OVERDRIVE 900

I have a 91 940 turbo, and overdrive stopped working one day between me going and coming from work. i have check the cicruit to see if it is getting power and the switch is working as much as i can see. i beleive it is the servo on the tranny. i would take it to a shop but im in the northeast of minnesota and no one, i mean NO ONE wants to even touch my beloved Volvo, and the closest shop that will look at it is 4 hours away! i was wondering if anyone knows what this may be or if it is what i think what tools i need to change it and how hard it is to change.
