sunroof problem 1990 740 GLE 900

My electric sunroof opens to the vent position and stops.Motor works well. If I operate it manually with the screwdriver,it opens to vent position and stops. Wont allow me to continue turning manual operation screw to fully open. Closes fine electrically or manually. Just wont slide into open position, like its blocked. Any suggestions from experience? Ibelieve 740 and 940 have same sunroof.
