Hi. I have a 1991 Volvo 740 GL Sedan with Automatic transmission. My issue is my speedometer has stopped working BUT the mileage is still accumulating AND here is the wierd part the cruise control still works and maintains speed although I dont know how fast im going. I have checked the speedometer itself and resoldered all the connections in the back of the dash. Several months ago the car was hit in the rear end on the passenger side rear wheel and warped the brake disc and rim. I had the whole rear axel replaced and shortly after that the speedometer quit. I dont know what to look for or where to begin on solving this odd mystery. If its a sensor wouldnt the odometer and cruise stop too? I know enough about cars to keep them running but these little things are mind boggling. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!! =)
