sorry about the double post..

Well here's the deal. Four months ago, I did a (nearly) complete front end job... including:

outer tie rods, ball joints, strut rods, sway bar links, strut inserts, coil springs.

The only thing I didn't replace is the strut mount bearings and the control arm bushings.

Now, 4 months later, I have developed an intermittant slow speed clunk in the left front end (drivers side) which I get when turning, hitting a bump (like a speed bump) or (interestingly) when I am slowing to a stop, I get the clunk when the car comes fully to a stop.

I was under the front end for a couple hours yesterday, all the bolts are tight, ball joint bolts are tight, strut rod bolts are tight. The threaded nut on the strut tube was a little loose, but tightening it didn't stop the clunk. Basically everything is tight.

Now the FAQ said that sometimes the strut bearings can crack, issuing forth a clunk.... this would suck because it would mean yanking the strut out of the car again.

At this point, because I know everything is tight, I am prepared just to turn the stereo up louder and ignore the noise for a while (because I have put so much damned money into this car already), but I'm sure it will drive me crazy.

Can anyone give me some advice? Things to test?
