89 240, 134a, hot shot, poooh! 200

Last year I refilled my 89 240 with 134a and ester oil. I bought it converted but I think they just changed oil and gas. It had a broken line which I replaced. Best I could get at the vents on a 100 degree day...58 degrees.

This year I decided to try "hot shot", supposed to work like R-12. It has been much more humid than normal here. Today, at 90 degrees I could only get 60 degrees at vents. Both gases are with the compressor cranked up to max and the fan on high.

Is that it??? What does R-12 do in the 240? Is my compressor weak? Do I have too much oil in it? I would think with that Hot Shot, I should be able to cruise at 45 in 100 degree heat, and get 50 degrees at the vents, with normal comprssor (not max, orange) and maybe 3 on the fan.

My mint 88 Turbo Wagon (97K) runs with R-12 and blows the 240 away on coolness.
No comparison. The wagon can get down to 40-45 degress on the road at the vents.

Any hints, comments?
