Raising driver's seat height on '89 245 & OD questions 200

I'm lacking the driver's manual for my '89 245 and need to find out if I can raise the driver's side seat height? Also, I'm used to driving the 4-speed manual w/OD, and the new car is an automatic. I'm assuming the little button on the left side of the gear shifter is for the OD. With the automatic transmission, do I engage it at aroun 55 mph? Just push in that little button? (I haven't driven an automatic car since I was in high school -- I had to ask someone when I should use that "2" gear!)
