Belt replacement 200 1988

I have a broken fan belt, and all of my belts need to be replaced. I tried to do the job myself and was able to adjust remove the alternator belt, the steering pump belt, but I was unable to adjust the a/c compressor to remove the drivebelt. If any one knows what to do after adjusting the pivot bolt I would appreciate it.
