almost one year ago someone put sugar in my boyfriends tank..i was vary angry because he drove a bit of a ways to see me every day (about 16 miles). i felt bad because it happened in my neighborhood. I knew it wouldnt screw up things that badly since the whole sugar thing is a myth, but i know that whoever did it put alot in there..it was all over the ground and there was a ton around the inner rim of the intry way to the tank. Maybe the person just got sloppy and spilled it everywhere..ether that or they put like a pound in there. my boyfriend isnt really made of cash and cant pay for a pricy tank cleaning or any real maintenance at the momment. But! on the up side i love cars and do rutine fix its on it all the time (he helps me of course, but learned off me)lol but i have no clue how to handle sugar in a gas tank like that i only know basic preventitive maintenance. IE.. oil and filter,front and back brakes,alternator,battery,and some knowledge of the braking system (bleeding) but thats about it. oh and some knownledge of the calipers (pulling them apart to insert new pads) does anyone know what i would need to take care of this proublem myself?? ill be taking a college course soon to learn more about auto mechanics, but until then i worry everyday that his car will just stall and never start again and there will be nothing i can do because i dont know enough...recently he ran out of gas right there in the middle of a major san diego intersection (we got to a gas station on fuems) and refilled...but ever since then even though theres gas in the tank you can feel a slit shimmy on idle
youll swear its a momment away from stalling but it doesnt..just shimmys alittle. could that be relaided to the sugar finally taking its toll? or is it something else????

any advise would be great, my nightmare is that one day on a rutine drive may be its last. i dont wont our baby to go anywere near a junk yard EVER! i got to fix it!! its my boyfriends first car im sure you can relate
and our only means of transportation..sorry for the long post but im sooo worried someones got to help us please!!!!
