Dear All Who helped me,
I rescued the car. The mechanic finally admitted he did not know much about Volvos. He played a funny trick on me though: the car stalled about 200ms from the garage, though he claimed to have fully charged the battery. Now I just laugh and feel relieved. Sorry for my morning rant once more.
Now, the electricity question: B.C. posted a really helpful guide on how to determine whether the excitator (sp?) wire is grounded correctly. Now I turn the key to Position II. Check bulb, whatever. In most cases, all 5 warning lights come up, usually some of them just faintly. Is it the way it supposed to be or does that mean it is incorrectly grounded? The lights (all of them) go out after the engine started.
Thanks a lot,
Harry
