Hey folks it's been a while but I need a hand diagnosing my 940T's belching white dense smoke on start-up. I suspected a bad head gasket and a friend told me to try Barr's Stop Leak. I've read the symptoms here and nothing in the oil or coolant reservoir is out of the ordinary. Gave the Barr's a go and it seems to help about 50% of the time but when it drops back into idle at a stoplight, the car may or may NOT belch (and I mean profusely if it does) the oily smelling white smoke.
There has been some evidence of oil (100% Synthetic) usage and it has always been using coolant. There's some oil visible on the engine and it smokes from under the hood when the engine is hot. I had a new heater block installed last year, and the car has 177K miles on it.
I'm really hoping for the least cost scenario since I'm getting ready for a knee-replacement on disability and you know the rest.
Any other info needed let me know otherwise, thanks to all you experts and believers out there.
