I know that some high performance tires have directional arrows printed on them. What happens if they are mounted on backwards?
The same with the timing belt I just plan to install. It has directional arrows on it. BUT if I line up the marks printed on it, if forces me to mount it with the directional arrows backwards to the clockwise turn of the engine.
What is more importantto line up? The directional arrows or the marks? Can I just install the belt with the arrows in the correct direction and ignore the marks on the belt (assuming the 3 marks on the engine itself are aligned)?
