'95 960 Missing some OBD terminals? Also Smog question 900 1995

Howdy! Just bought myself a 960 and no matter how loyal I am to the 7-series, the 9-series cars are even more comfortable!

Now on to my two problems:

1) I found all of the great tips and fault codes in the FAQ section, but my car appears to be missing some of the terminals! I have both "A" and "B" boxes, but I only have 1-3 in "A" and 2, 5, and 6 in "B". Is this right? Did some of the cars come w/o an ignition OBD terminal? So far, the codes in all the boxes (kicking myself for not having checked the codes before I bought!) seem to match the car's problems. The one I'm really after is the Ignition terminal since...

2) ...the car won't pass smog because of high HC levels. Unfortunately, I live in California where we have new Smog laws which require the car be put on a dynamo and tested at 15mph and 25mph, so the Smog FAQ under Engine Tune and Performance was a little confusing. After it came back from the test station, I listened again and I am pretty sure that it does "ping" under moderate load. I do plan to change the plugs, wires, cap, & rotor but I wondered if anyone has other suggestions to look at or knew of known faults that would cause High HC's. I also noticed that the battery terminals have some pretty serious corrosion and the battery looks like it needs to be replaced. Perhaps a new battery and cable could be adding to all of this? I saw that there was splicing tips in the FAQ, but is it really that expensive to get an OEM Poz battery cable?

Thanks!

Keegan
