A/C change fo 'Freeze-12' 700

I got a "Freeze 12" kit on ebay that supposedly can be used to charge an
R-12 system. It includes Freeze 12 refrigerant, oil, port adapters, and a
hose. However, I can't see any way of putting the port adapter on the large
R-12 port with the big plastic cap -- presumably the one you would use to
charge the the system. Anyone have any experience with this? The vendor is
not responding to questions other than to reassure me the kit can be used for
"all cars." Thanks for any suggestions.
