Electronic O/D blowing fuses 200 1988

My overdrive wasn't working so I bought a $60 relay from the dealer(ouch) and now it works for 5 or so miles and then it blows the fuse. Does anyone out there know if it could be the solenoid or is it something else? Thanks, Eric
