As if I need it right now, my wife just called on her way home and reported that the idiot lights all came on, but the car was running fine. She figured she should call and see if it was okay. It started up again just fine, but the lights were still on. Car is a 1991 745 Turbo.
I'm figuring some kind of single-point electrical system malfunction, like a bad ground, or an alternator problem or maybe a cracked circuit board, or, most likely a worn ignition switch. I did not think to tell her to gently jiggle the key and see if the lights go out.
Are any of you familiar with this problem, and does it sound like I'm on the right track?
BTW, I told her to come on home, and if she is not here in another 15 min, I'll go looking for her. Of course, today is the one day that she left her cell phone at home.
Thanks
