Bizzare behavior - radio and fan don't like the hot weather 200 1988

Our 245 seems to be been possesed. Whenever it sits outside in the hot weather (90*F) the radio refuses to turn on (unless the radio was turned off prior to turning the car off) and now even the blower fan doesn't work until the ambient temperature cools down. I know it really doesn't make sense but after the wife pointed it out to me I asked her to see if she can replicate the problem at least twice and she just called me on the way home saying it happened again under exactly the same circumstances.

The only thing I can think of is that the ignition switch might be going bad. I drive the volvo way more than her and its never happened to me, although I do park in a parking structure at work while she has to leave it out in the open sun at her work.
