i checked mine hot and the flapper was tilted more than 1/2 way to the hot side(still need to check the 92).it feels as though accelleration is a tad bit quicker and smoother.it makes sense since it was heated air thru the smaller(hot side) opening.
you have no doubt saved a few A.M.M.'s and i would also recommend others to check the airbox thermostat.
