I recently noticed that the a/c was not blowing cold, although it did last summer and the defogger worked fine over the winter. I thought I heard the compressor coming on, but what I heard was just the change in engine idle when the a/c is switched on. I checked voltage at the single green wire that feeds the compressor, and got .4v. Can anyone tell if this is within specs or not? I also noticed that the aux. fan is siezed up, and voltage at the plug is 2.0-2.5v. Is that a typical reading? I can probably find a replacement fan, but a new compressor might not be an option. I have some spare R-12, but no R-12 oil or gauges, etc to do a/c work.
Also, since we live in the Pacific Northwest, the necessity of a/c is debatable. However, it is very nice to have on the camping trips, and it's great for defogging in humid weather. I found nothing specific in FAQs or my Chilton book, and the site search seems to be asleep today, so any input is appreciated.
