green or black coolant cap? 900

My 1995 940 Turbo came with a green coolant cap... but looking through the IPD catalogue, I notice they recommend only using the black caps. They say the green, grey and white caps might cause premature failure of hoses and the radiator.

Any thoughts as to which is the right color cap for the 940 turbo? And do caps ever need replacing becaue they wear out?

Thanks for any opinions...
