cruise control 200 1991

I started to install cruise control in my 1991 volvo 240.My car was already set up for it because it had the bracket behind the knee bolster for the(brain)the tubing through the firewall to connect to the vacumm pump. This is where I am;the brake dump is in the gas pedal air diaphram ,and all of the air tubing lines are connected. I have the (brain) or cruise control computer also installed. The combination turn signal /cruise control activating lever is also installed on the steering wheel. There is supposed to be a wire that connects to the back of the instrument cluster . I am definitlly sure about this . Without that wire connected the brain cant tell how fast the car is going. has anyone done this job and if so what color is the wire that connects to the back of the cluster. I have everything else installed. Is there something I am missing. Please explain the system if you did the same installation and correct me if I missed any thing . The instrument panel wire is the key component I think. Thanks Ron
