front end noise 900 1994

Greetings, two questions... First I have a loud hum/noise very noticable at 40 t 60 mph. Not the engine. More noticable when steering to the left rather than right. I've pulled the 2 front bearing/hub assembly and found no burnt grease, looks o.k., but I'm not sure. Any ideas on how to check these? I've lifted the car and inspected the universal joints front and back and both are tight, not loose. Any ideas? Second, what do I torque down the 36mm wheel bearing nut, on the spendle as well as the 2 that hold the front calipars sercure? Your advise is appreciated. sellers.william@comcast.net
