Best tires for 'absorbent' ride in 240 sedan 200

Would anyone who frequents this list care to offer a suggestion for new tires on my 240 sedan? I'm looking for tires that don't telescope the snapping of every little pavement joint and don't howl at highway speeds on concrete freeways. Right now, this car has inexpensive Dayton Quadra tires (with 10K miles) that offer reasonably quiet drives on smooth blacktop roads, but transmit lots of noise when on concrete highways at speed limit. Soft sidewall and soft rubber compound seems logical, but what brand/series of tires are best at not transmitting all of this road generated noise? I've read about the Michelin Hydro Edge attributes being outstanding in this regard, but the local dealer hasn't sold any yet so he has no actual owner reports. And I don't want to buy them on a lark with the price being over $500 mounted. I'm not a competition driver. Just looking for a comfortable, quiet ride. What do you recommend?
