I'm starting to look for a replacement for my wifes s90. More my idea then hers. I would like her to have something new or almost new and want something that is very reliable, safe and comfortable. I'd also like the keep the numbers down a bit maybe something between 25-30k overall so the sky is not the limit. Her car needs to get into the shop for some front end work I think and I would like to take over driving it till it drops which may not be for some time.
So far we have looked at Nissan (Maxima, Murano, Altima)
Toyota: (Avalon, 4Runner, Highlander)
Honda: (Accord, Pilot)
Accura(TL, TX)
Volvo (s60)
Out of all these cars/suv's she likes the Accura TL the best. Also very pricey. I liked the 4Runner and the Accord, she would rather not go with an suv and thought the accord was too small. I also thought the Maxima was nice, though she was not crazy about it. Yesterday we looked at an '04 s60 with about 3k miles on it (used). I thought it was nice, but still had that 850ish 5 cyl engine buzz that is hard to take after you are used to a 6cyl 960 motor. She was less than impressed with it compared to the s90.
I had always assumed Accura's were just like Honda's and were top notch on build quality and fit and finsh. Looking on the internet at various sites, it seems like some of the newer ones are only coming up as average. That makes it a bit hard to swallow their really high prices. Since I am looking for something very reliable, I have pretty much written off anything from ford, gm or dc. I think mercedes are out of the price range so am in a bit of a quandry as to what to get to replace this car that will make her happy. I'm open to suggestions for vehicles to look at.
Thanks. Bob
