I am leaking fuel but only when the engine is running. After letting
the problem "dry out" and after reading a large number of postings here, I
returned to the car and first just turned on the ignition and got under the
car near the fuel pump mounting (driver's side rear)..no obvious leakage.
I then started the engine and returned to the same position. Ah ! fuel
leaking down from the fuel tank to the inlet on the fuel pump, swishing along
the outside of the large rubber fuel line. It appears this line is a large rubber hose or is there a metal line inside the rubber exterior ? Any insights into what to use to replace this line ?, and is there anyway to get the job done without having to fully drain the fuel tank ? Could this leak still be originating with the fuel tank sender unit (my gut says its just a fuel line problem between the main tank and the fuel pump) ? Please advise...all help appreciated.
