I'm losing ground on an electrical problem with my 1991 240. Here is the sequence of events: 1. Pull coil wire and run starter several times to flush old power steering fluid. 2. Reconnect coil wire with no start-no click of solenoid. 3. Charge battery same result. 4. Jump with another car same result. 5. Install rebuilt starter (old starter was showering sparks when it did run). 6. Attempt start - click but no turning of engine. 7. Push start (5-speed), and note flickering BAT light. 8. Replace voltage regulator noting very short brushes on old one. 9. Attempt start -clicking, no turnover. 10. Push start and note now bright BAT, BRAKE FAIL and one other idiot lights on steady and engine doesn't want to keep running at idle.
Any suggestions??? I have a 1990 240 also and could swap parts to check things.
