Clean that darn Thottle Body already!!!! 200 1986

I finally got around to cleaning out my TB yesterday. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I guess I thought bricks just didn't idle very smooth - boy was I wrong! If anyone has been putting it off, or are hesitant to do it because they are scared of screwing something up (as I was), JUST DO IT!! It is a piece of cake. A can of TB cleaner, a toothbrush, a new gasket, and a set of box wrenches is all you need. Just watch out for the T-switch. Took all of 20 minutes to complete. Car runs better than ever.

And don't worry about resetting the idle - that takes about 30 seconds.

While I had most of the air intake system off, I decided to check out the air box t-stat. Glad I did because it was shot - only was letting super hot air from the preheater hose into the airbox. So I changed that too. I am lucky that my AMM is not blown!!!!

Thanks to all of the regulars out there who gave me the know-how and confidence to do it. This really is a special group of people (Brickboard).

GROUP HUG!
