740T for repair/parts - what's it worth? 700 1990

My friend is deciding what to do with his 1990 740 Turbo - either sell for repair/parts or donate for a tax deduction. I'd like to tell him approximately what he could get for it if it's sold for repair/parts. Here's the info:
1990 740 Turbo sedan (white)
Automatic transmission
Approx. 165k miles
Was running well until the head gasket blew due to coolant loss
Body is damage-free (no accidents) and looks good
Interior is mostly good except headliner drooping a bit - has somewhat rare black/gray checkered cloth seats
Good set of original 16" Hydra alloy wheels

The car spent most of its life in New England except the last few years in California (it's in Palo Alto now).
