Overdrive Solenoid ??? 900

My overdrive light would come on & off without touching the button. I took out the solenoid and it looks good (no sign of cracks or bad solder joints). So I put a small piece of wood in the contacts to force it on all the time. I have no need to have it off anyway. Is there a potential problem with this? I don't see one.
