Stalled 200 1985

My car stalled on the freeway. It seems like I ran out of gas. When I checked under the hood I found cracked vacuum hose( Its a little one that attaches to the firewall) I don't know if I describe it well. Any I cut the tip and put it back in. The car turns but gas is not going in. Help
