idiot lights

ok, ok well all jokes aside, what do the idiot lights in my 86 240dl mean? Some of them ar intuitive, but I am confused as to what some indicate. The ones that I am unable to identify are the green one whaich displays a "5" when lit (it has never light up as it had no bulb in it when i got it), the light that appears to be the symbol for choke on a carburated machine such as a lawn mower, and the light that has a curly-cue line on it when lit. Additionally, I have a switch for fog lights, and an idiot light for them, but as far as I can tell, no actual fog lights....is this normal?
