uneven brake wear; any suggestions? 700

I have a '92 745 turbo wagon. Recently I noticed a grinding sound and figured it was the right front brake. I decided to change all the pads, and when I got the wheels off and went to replace the brakes, I found that the inner right front pad was completely worn, while the other one on the right side and both left front brake pads had plenty of wear left. This was just under 30,000 miles since I last changed pads and rotors. Why would this uneven wear happen? Any way to fix it so it doesn't happen again?
