Proper AMM voltage? 700 1990

I have a '90 740T that has been having intermittent rich-running problems. A friend of mine with a voltmeter recently helped me check the voltage on the AMM. At idle it was 2.66V, and at that time the engine was running well. Is this voltage close enough (FAQ mentions 2.3V)? Or are there too many other variables involved?

Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thank you.
