Parking brake issues 200 1987

A follow up to my earlier post...

Wanted find the cause that my parking brake was not applying evenly. Tried to adjust it in the center consul area but with no luck.

After removing the brake discs on both sides, I find that the drives side is dry and slightly rusty with the Parking brake shoes in ok conditon.

THe passenger side is a different story. Every thing in the parking brake assembly is soaked in grease. I think the seal to the bearing must be leaking out grease and getting all over everything down there under the disc. The shoes are completly saturated. I will have to replace them...

I don't have the star adjuster system in my parking brakes either.

1. WHat should I do about the grease? IS it possible to just put a new outer seal on the out side with out removing the hub and everthing or do I have to pull the entire thing and repack the bearings and all the stuff I don't know how to do?

2. IS it possible to adjust the lenght of the cable in any other place but up by the brake handle inside the car? I don't really see any way visually but... am I missing something?

THanks
