Switching from 240 to 940 900 1992

Happily owned two 240's for six years and now considering a 940 aswell. Have seen a 940 GL B230F, with 4 speed auto box. As I am new to 900's is there anything I should look out for when testing the car? And also are there any service items which should be checked out prior to a long journey? If I like it, I'll buy it tomorrow, but have to drive 1,000 miles next weekend so want to make sure it's all ok. Thanks..
