I currently considering the purchase of one of two 240's that i'm looking at. Both of them have the exhaust manifold leading to a short downpipe which then connects to a very cheap looking flexi-tube that leads toward the front of the car!? but it must turn and head to the cat and proceed to the rest of the exhaust system...i just can't see where. I was suprised to see this cheap tubing on both volvos...is it stock? and why does it need to head toward the front of the car? where does it turn to...where is the cat? If the volvo wasn't a fair drive from my house i'd go out and look at it. The nicer of the two im looking at was stored for 2 months and i was the first customer to look at it.....when the owner started it up it sounded like a tractor! He popped the hood and this cheap flexi-tube wasn't connected to the manifold. I figured that was the cause of all the exhaust noise....i came back a day later and he had re-connected it but it was still just as loud...he said it needs a muffler but the muffler looks new. If any of you have pics of the exhaust layout, i'd love to know what im looking at before i go back to inspect it.
